I’m excited to be collaborating with Landcare ACT's Women in Nature program that invites you to connect with and care for nature through WELLSPRING - a series of nature connection activities set to run weekly throughout the spring season (Sept/Oct/Nov) including guided walks, talks, nature-based art sessions, and hands-on conservation activities.
Explore the colours, textures, and patterns of Mulligans Flat through a guided forest therapy walk and felting session led by Julie Armstrong from Canberra Forest Therapy, accompanied by Nature Connection Facilitator Sally Holliday from Landcare ACT.
An experience in two parts: first a gentle forest therapy walk in the reserve, after which the group will make its way over to the nearby Wildbark Visitors Centre to translate what we have seen and experienced into nature-based art. You are invited to play with colour and texture to create your own beautiful artwork using natural wool fibres; bringing the strands together using a wet-felting technique. This part of the workshop will take place outdoors.
The session will conclude at 12:30pm (just in time for lunch at the Wildbark cafe, should you wish to stay on).
Formalities to be aware of:
I am a qualified Forest Therapy guide with the International Nature & Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA)
This 2 hour guided walk is suitable for adults and children >16 years.
I'm looking forward to sharing with you the beauty and medicine of the forest and the joy of playing with colour and textiles!
