Spring Guided Forest Therapy Walk Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve Saturday 30th November 9:00am-12:00pm

Join us for this slow guided Forest Therapy morning walk in the Eucalyptus Forest track in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve to experience the beauty and rich biodiversity of this place.  I will guide you through a series of activities that involve slow walking, tuning into nature using all of our senses, sitting and observing and enjoying feeling connection.

Join us for a slow walk in the still mountain air, leaving the hustle of city life behind you. Allow yourself to tune into the sounds of diverse birds surrounding calls. Sit in peace beside an ancient sparkling granite rock adorned with circles of soft moss and crusty lichen. Feel the silken water caressing your feet, rejuvenating and enriching the pores of your skin. Look upwards and drink in the majesty of the tree canopy, arching above cool and green against the warming sun’s rays. Relax and linger to breathe in deeply the clean air rich with healing aerosols.  Slow down and allow your whole being to enjoy this time, just for you, to connect and return to yourself.

Originating in Japan in the 1980's, Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing or immersion in the forest) was found to be an effective preventative health practice that also connected people more deeply with the beautiful forests. Ongoing research has shown that trees and plants give off volatile oils called phytoncides that have physiological and psychological benefits for us.
The guided Forest Therapy  walk will boost our immune systems, reduces our stress, regulate pulse and blood pressure and helps us feel calm amidst the everyday stresses of modern life.
